Long Live Mydas is a top down adventure shooter with procedurally generated levels, a variety of weapons, off the wall plot, an optional endless mode, a sentient piece of toast, and so much more!!!

The story follows Mydas, a top hat wearing beaver on a mission. Upon vising a bank and being asked to sign a contract in order to acquire wealth, he is trapped by Plutus, the owner, and now must climb the 100 floors of the complex in order to defeat Plutus and escape.

Movement uses WSAD and the arrow keys, although WSAD is recommended. As a top down shooter this game utilizes the mouse. You aim with your cursor and press the LMB to use your weapon.  There is no dodge mechanic in the game. Mydas is a beaver and is therefore notably not agile out of the water.

Endless mode does not have a stopping point, as the name implies. In contrast, the main mode has a couple of story scenes, as well as a boss fight after completing floor 100. You do get one last shop visit before the final fight.

The game has two modes, "Normal" mode and "Heart of Gold" mode. Heart of gold allows you to spend your health as money by clicking using RMB in the shop. This is given as a choice at the beginning on an endless run. It is available in the main mode by interacting with the case on the far right in the starting lobby area. Please note that this also does change some context and dialogue for the opening scene, so it is recommended you experience the dialogue normally first. This decision does not affect the ending only the opening scene, mechanics, and some visuals involving the health UI.
